I've put up a little video of my

what it was like last winter in Dalkey and Killiney.

Thanks to Dalkey Community Council
for again featuring my work on their front page.
This time it's a photo of Sorrento Terrace and Dalkey
Island taken from the path down to The Vico Bathing
Place. Sorrento Terrace is home to movie director
Neil Jordan and the pink house is owned by U2 guitarist
'The Edge'. They must enjoy watching the dolphins
playing in the bay there!
Just below this spot are the steps
from which I took the Dalkey Island dolphin snow
photo that featured in The Irish Times last November.
Having been asked by so many people,
I've had some other frames made up in different shapes
and sizes including the photo at the top of this page in
a wide frame. See them in The Bedroom Studio.

4th April 2011
I now have some canvas frames on
display in The Bedroom Studio in Dalkey. These can
be ordered with a special coating that protects the
surface and makes it wipe-cleanable! This can be
handy if you wanted to display an image in, for example,
a kitchen.

Another photographer has a
dolphin photo which is similar to
mine for sale in a shop unit opposite Mugs Cafe in Dalkey
Village. He had a temporary shop in
Glasthule Village before Christmas. I want to
emphasise that his photo is not
the photo that was on the front of The Irish Times
and on TV3 during the recent snow. My Irish Times original dolphin photograph
and more of my work is on
sale in Dalkey at The Heritage Centre, The Bedroom Studio, The
Exchange Bookshop, Select Stores, on this website and by
contacting me directly - nowhere else!

Dalkey Village this evening.

My Irish Times Dalkey dolphin photo made the
final four in the Best Photo section in the TV3
Media Awards. Vincent Browne gave it great praise,
thanks Vincent and thanks to those who nominated me.

Village in the snow today. I used a waterproof
cover for my camera and was able to shoot in a snowfall.

Wow! I submitted my dolphin
photo to the Irish Times and they have published it
today on their front page. That's the first time
I've ever submitted a photo for publication and I struck
gold at my first attempt. My phone has been
hopping all day with friends ringing and texting to
congratulate me and people ringing to look for prints
having got my number from The Irish Times. What a
day!

28th November 2010
I went out early this morning to
get some photos in the fresh snow which had fallen
overnight. I met two other photographers in
Sorrento Park and we were taking photos of the snow
covered island when one spotted dolphins near The Vico
Bathing Place. I had spent much of the summer
looking for these dolphins and had presumed they
had moved away in the autumn, but there they were!
We abandoned what we were doing and relocated to The
Vico Bathing Place. It's amazing how few people
know where this is and how to get there. I had to
show the others where the entrance was. We were so
lucky - the dolphins played around us for over half an
hour. The morning sun came out at one point and
illuminated Dalkey Island with a beautiful light.
As if on cue, one of the dolphins jumped out of the
water and I got this perfect once in a lifetime shot!
